Catalogue Note

We are grateful to Everett Fahy for confirming the attribution to the Master of Marradi based on firsthand inspection.  The Marradi Master was a follower of Domenico Ghirlandaio, active in the second half of the 15th century, who specialised both in religious works and in cassoni, predominately of classical subjects.
