Probably acquired in the last quarter of the 18th century for Audley End House by Sir John Griffin Griffin, 4th Lord Howard de Walden, 1st Baron Braybrooke, 1719-1797;
Thence by descent to the Rt. Hon. Robin H.C. Neville;
By whom (anonymously) sold ("Property of a Nobleman"), London, Sotheby's, December 6, 1995, lot 41, for £54,000 to Johnny van Haeften, from whom purchased by the present owner in 1996.
