Description

The heart-shaped locket-pendant decorated on the front with a radiating floral motif set with old-mine and rose-cut diamonds, the petals outlined in black enamel, the pendant loop similarly decorated, reversing to a glazed compartment, suspended from a chain of gold oval links and larger interlocking oblong links studded with seed pearls, length 16½ inches.

Condition

Chain is not original to the piece but is of 19th century date. It has two spring rings and may be worn shorter than the stated length of 16½ inches. The rose- and old European-cut diamonds are approximately H-L color and VS-I clarity. The seed pearls in the chain are of creamy golden color. Some damage to the enamelling, and the glazed compartment is heavily abraded, but the piece is in good condition overall.
