Description
The first a spray of violets, the petals and leaves applied with translucent purple and green enamel, the center of each flower accented with an old-mine diamond, mounted in gold and silver, the second a single flower with curling petals pavé-set with rose-cut diamonds, the stem set with calibré-cut emeralds, later-added, together with fitted leather case.
Condition
In the violet brooch there are chips and cracks to the enamel on the front, and a large patch of missing enamel on the back of one leaf. The diamond flower brooch has a later added gold stem, the tube-shaped petals are assembled to the center with solder, the flowerhead is possibly rhodium-plated silver, the fitted leater case is in fair condition, the interior with wear to the velvet and staining, but still quite an unusual form for a case.
