Description

The realistically modelled insect set with a cushion-shaped sapphire weighing 6.36 carats and an oval diamond of yellow color weighing 21.23 carats, the legs and eyes set with a total of 404 round diamonds altogether weighing 12.73 carats, mounted in 18 karat gold and platinum.  

Provenance

The spider token was found in Fairmont, West Virginia. 

 

Condition

The spider is a jeweled object and does not have a brooch pin. See AGL report for the sapphire stating it is of Kashmir origin, with no heat treatment. It is a slightly deep blue color and is slightly included. The colored diamond is approximately a light yellow color (in the T-U-V color range) and an I clarity. The legs are set with round diamonds approximately G-H color and VS clarity. Stamped with maker's mark JD for Jewelry Designs (Bob Underhill of Danbury, CT) and a copyright symbol. In good condition.
