Description
The head pavé-set with 263 round black diamonds weighing 8.20 carats, the hinged gold wings applied with black enamel spots spring open to reveal a pierced interior panel surmounted by a floral cluster set with a cushion-shaped tanzanite of 9.61 carats, encircled by 12 round diamonds weighing 3.68 carats, the legs and underside set with 176 round diamonds weighing 7.86 carats, the eyes set with 2 round diamonds of yellow color, mounted in 18 karat gold and platinum.
Condition
The beetle is a jeweled object is not fitted with a brooch mechanism. The head is set with black diamonds, and the legs are set with round diamonds approximately H-I color and VVS-VS clarity. Inside the movable wings is set a vibrant deep violetish-blue tanzanite, which is eye clean. It is surrounded by round diamonds approximately G-H color and VS clarity. In good condition overall. Stamped with JD for Jewelry Designs (Bob Underhill of Danbury, CT) and a copyright symbol.
