Description

The rectangular miniature depicting a lakeside village with mountains in the background, the cloud-filled sky centering a circular watch dial, all within a gold backing, within a gold frame accented at the quarters with engraved scroll motifs, unsigned movement, together with a key. Accompanied by a fitted case. 

Condition

Miniature is in good condition. Some slight oxidation to the gold and the back of the case has a minor dent, pin may have been replaced. The mechanical movement is not signed, it has a key and is presently running. The case is worn and rubbed but closes securely; there is a sleeve for the key. See Important Notice Regarding Condition of Watches on page 281 of the catalogue.
