Description

Comprising: a necklace composed of two rows of gently graduated coral beads, length approximately 460mm, French assay marks; a bracelet made up of four rows of polished coral beads to a clasp of flower head design, length approximately 165mm, French assay marks; together with a brooch of similar cluster design, French assay marks and a pair of pendent earrings of cascade design, each quatrefoil surmount suspending three detachable polished coral drops, shepherd's crook hook fittings, French assay marks, part illustrated. 

Condition

Necklace: Stamped with French marks for gold to tongue of clasp. Some coral beads with surface wear, including small pit marks and natural banding characteristic of coral. In overall good condition. Bracelet: Stamped with French marks for gold to tongue of clasp. Some coral beads with surface wear, pit marks and natural banding characteristic of coral. One bead has been replaced with a faceted bead. Brooch: Three coral beads with noticeable fractures, eight stones showing small black pit marks. Three suspending loops to reverse for pendant drops, now deficient. In overall good condition. Pendant earrings: Stamped with French marks for gold to Shepherd's hook crook fitting, drop detachable from surmount. Pit and cultivation marks visible to majority of beads with banding characteristic of coral and glue visible to reverse of one surmount bead. One coral drop chipped to hoop attachment. Necklace and bracelet have been recently re-strung and include beads with matt appearance. Brooch and earrings with shiny, possibly treated/lacquered appearance.
