Description
Designed to the front as a series of open work links, some of foliate and scroll motifs, each centring on a cushion-shaped ruby, highlighted with circular-, single- and rose-cut diamonds, to a bar and curb link double chain back, the clasp millegrain-set with a quatrefoil of cushion-shaped rubies and circular-cut diamonds, length approximately 415mm, early 20th century and later.
Condition
Principal rubies a medium red with moderately strong saturation of colour, typical inclusions visible to the naked eye, some with slightly weaker saturation of colour, one a slightly orangy red, nicks to facet junctions and some surface reaching inclusions. Rubies in clasp a slightly purplish (pinkish) red, moderately strong saturation of colour, typical inclusions visible with magnification, one noticeably chipped. Diamonds bright and lively throughout. Secure clasp. Probably previously a bracelet, some links missing. In good condition.
