Description
Of stylised flower head design decorated with foil backed mixed-cut chrysoberyl, highlighted by a circular-cut ruby, to surrounds of foliage and suspending an articulated open work tassel set with mixed-cut chrysoberyl, later brooch fitting, original unusually shaped tooled leather fitted case.
Condition
Mounted in silver. Chrysoberyl, a very light greenish yellow hue, several with abraded facet junctions and small chips only visible with magnification. Well articulated drop and fringe. Silver discoloured with scratches and indentations consistent with age and wear. Later brooch fitting to reverse. Brooch weighing approximately 54.1 grams. Accompanied by a tooled leather fitted case suiting the shape of the pendant brooch, some scuffs to leather exterior, silk lining thin and a little threadbear in places, velvet slightly discoloured and with one small tear. In very good condition.
