COLLECTION OF ENAMEL AND DIAMOND RELIGIOUS JEWELS, PORTUGUESE MID 17TH CENTURY AND LATER

Comprising: an oval glazed reliquary pendant, decorated to the obverse and reverse with reverse painted miniatures depicting St Christopher and probably St Jerome, applied to the cardinal points by stylised lilies decorated with pink and white enamel within an engraved foliate surround of green enamel, concealed compartment, mid 17th century; a gold enamel pendant designed as a crucifix, in 17th century style; a pendant of open work foliate design, set to the obverse with the Dove of The Holy Spirit decorated with white enamel to a blue enamel background, highlighted by table- and rose-cut diamonds, the reverse decorated with pink and white enamel, mid 17th century; a Spanish devotional pendant, glazed on each side and with a painted figure, to an open work scroll motif frame, accented by circular table-cut paste, mid 18th century and a pendant of quatrefoil design decorated with black, green and white enamel depicting symbols of Christ, cross, palm and dagger; mid 18th.

Reliquary pendant with extensive wear to enamel decoration, and slight paint loss to miniatures on both sides, metal interior filled with card and paper. Crucifix, in good condition. Dove of the Holy Spirit pendant with extensive enamel loss to both sides, central dove lose, and two stones deficient. C17th devotional pendant, with paint loss to both miniatures, and several small chips to glass. C18th quatrefoil pendant, with enamel loss to border and abrasions to central enamel decoration on both side with some small chips.
