COLLECTION OF PEARL AND DIAMOND JEWELLERY, LATE 19TH AND EARLY 20TH CENTURY

Description

Comprising: a bracelet of curb linking decorated to the front with two rows of pearls, accented by a line and trefoils of rose-cut diamonds, length approximately 170mm; a brooch depicting a chimera entwined around a bar with pearl terminals, the body highlighted with rose-cut diamonds, embellished with a seed pearl issuing from its mouth; together with a dress pin set with a circular-cut diamond and a tied ribbon bow motif decorated with rose-cut diamonds and suspending an articulated pearl drop.

Condition

Bracelet: Stamped to the tongue with French import marks. Pearls well matched in size and shape, several with a light greyish body colour, medium lustre on average, some with rosé overtones, one pearl cracked. Diamonds lively. Well articulated bracelet. Detached safety chain, could benefit from attention by a professional jeweller. In good condition. Brooch: Rose cut diamonds lively. Single-cut ruby eyes a slightly pinkish red hue. Drop pearl with a slightly creamy bodycolour, rosé overtones and a medium lustre. Other two pearls with similar qualities. Pin very slightly bent. Scratches to polished reverse consistent with cleaning. Evidence of repair to the bar- it has been broken in two at some point and soldered back. Dress Pin: Principal diamond weighing approximately 0.20 carat, estimated colour I, estimated clarity I, remaining stones bright and lively. Pearl measuring approximately 5.9mm, cream bodycolour, medium lustre, well articulated. Collection in good condition.
