GEM-SET AND DIAMOND RING, 1950s, INSCRIBED STERLÉ

Of chevron rope work design, set to the centre with a cushion-shaped ruby, flanked by similarly-shaped sapphires, highlighted by circular-cut diamonds, size I, inscribed Sterlé Paris and numbered, French assay marks.

Inscribed Sterlé Paris and numbered 9120 to inside of shank. Estimated total diamond weight approximately 0.30-0.32 carats. Ruby of slightly purplish-red hue, medium-light tone and a very slightly brownish saturation of colour. Ruby heavily abraded to table facets and girdle and scratched to table, chipped under one claw. Sapphires of blue hue, medium light tone and moderately strong saturation of colour. Sapphires abraded to table facets and girdles with one stone with large chip to girdle, slightly included showing typical inclusions under 10x magnification. Indistinct stamp to ring shank. Mount in overall good condition.
