A Louis XV chinoiserie lacquer commode
stamped I Dubois

with a molded serpentine-fronted mottled brown and beige marble top above two long drawers decorated sans traverse with chinoiseries incorporating people at various pursuits, flowering branches and pavillions in tones of red, green and gold on a black ground, surrounded by faux-aventurine borders, the sides similarly decorated, raised on cabriole legs. Fitted with associated ormolu chutes cast with dolphins; ormolu handles, keyhole escutcheons and sabots.
