A Meissen figure of a miner musician
circa 1745-50
modelled by Johann Joachim Kändler and Peter Reinicke, wearing a green hat with yellow and black rosette, black tunic and white breeches, the base applied with leaves and flowers and with a low rockwork support at the rear, crossed swords mark in underglaze-blue to rear of base. Neck of instrument restored, right hand restored, extensive traces of spray residue to jacket.
