the rectangular veneered top fitted with a pierced three-quarter ormolu gallery above a leather-lined slant front writing surface, the front with a pair of tambour slides opening to reveal pigeonholes, each side fitted with a small drawer, one enclosing secret drawers, above a leather-lined writing slide and with a larger pair of drawers beneath; the back fitted with a fall-front opening to form a velvet-lined writing surface and to reveal pigeonholes; the whole raised on square supports veneered to simulate fluting, joined by a shelf, continuing to square tapered legs fitted with ormolu collars and sabots.
