Circa 1785, Stamped GAY JME

each shaped rectangular padded backrest with an arched top rail carved with acanthus leaves, the padded armrests with leaf carved armrests and supports, the loose cushion seat raised on round tapered stop-fluted legs, the whole carved with leaf tips.
