A Louis XVI ormolu-mounted white marble mantel clock
circa 1790
the white enamelled dial with Arabic hours, minutes and date, inscribed à Paris, contained within a rectangular case surmounted by an amphora and an obelisk studded with stars, flanked by a female figure, raised on a rectangular base of breakfront outline, decorated with painted reserves depicting putti in imitation of Wedgwood, in beaded frames and fitted with an ormolu plaque cast with addorsed putti, raised on ormolu feet.
