each with a rectangular hinged top inlaid with a neo-classical flower-filled tazze flanked by griffins and surmounted by floral swags and butterflies with a stylised fan motif at the angles, opening to reveal a patera flanked by acanthus at the angles,  on square tapering legs

Condition

Colour far less orange overall with more contrast between the various woods and much more attractive than in the catalogue photograph. Attractive detail to marquetry with some very minor chips and restorations which are hardly noticeable and commensurate with age and use. Both tops are slightly warped but this does not detract from the piece. The table on the right of the illustration: Front left leg bends slightly inwards as visible from the photograph but does not detract form piece. Rear right leg on same table is slightly more faded than the rest but can be repolished to match the rest. There is a hairline crack across the stylized fan motif in top left corner but this does not detract from overall look. There is a later replacement to the rear frieze but this is only visible when the table is opened up and viewed internally. The table on the left of the illustration: There is a small section of the base of the internal recess missing which can easily be replaced. These are also walnut. An attractive pair of games tables in overall good condition which can be placed immediately. Recommended. Measurements: H= 81 cm; W=83 cm; D = 44.5 cm (when closed)/ 89 cm (open)
