with a crown corona cast with fleur de lys above foliate cast bosses suspending husks, the upper section with bacchic satyrs interposed by stylised scallopshells with a door, the intersections cast with a stylised foliate motif, the tapering lower section cast with lion mask and acanthus with a foliate finial, formerly fitted for electricity
Condition
Some minor firing flaws and pitting and the piece slightly dirty overall and would benefit from a light clean. One of the glass panels has a small crack in it, which can easily be replaced. Some of the banding is loose where one of the flowerheads is missing at the intersection and will need to be re-attached. A small section of moulding at the base and one of the panes has been replaced in wood and is off, but present and can easily be re-attached. Foliate motifs at intersections generally loose and need to be tightened up. There is a gap above some of the glass panels on the top tier. An impressive piece and once cleaned would look superb. In overall good condition.
