the superstructure with a neoclassical urn finial above a frieze with scrolling foliage, the white enamel dial within a drum shaped case, the sides with pierced metal flowerheads amoungst vine leaves and grapes; fronted by the seated figure of Minerva; flanked by neoclassical fountains on plinths within a balustrade, on troupie feet
Condition
Old minor marks and chips commensurate with age. The lower balustrade is loose and would benefit from regluing. Some minor retouching to gilding. The foliate carving around the dial has been strengthened at the back and there is a small break at the top. There are some hairline construction cracks which could be easily filled and do not detract from the piece. An unusual piece in good condition.
