Description

  • each 68cm. high; 2ft 3¼in.
each with a pinnacle surmounted by a globe above a ring suspending faceted amethyst and clear cut -glass chains with beads, the stem in the form of a concave-sided tazza issuing three scrolled candlearms with acanthus leaf cast drip-pans, the central ring supporting flower-shaped drops suspending diamond and pear-shaped drops and beads on a cream marble socle and square base, on toupie feet ; replacements

Condition

The colour of the marble is creamier and more attractive than appears in the catalogue photograph. There are some minor and medium sized chips to the beads and drops and some of the drops may be later replacements. From the way that the beads are strung together, the wire is probably later. There are some miniscule chips to the cream marble, but this is not too noticeable. The central rings on both are just slightly warped and the central screw on the stem needs tightening up. The blue central glass section on one has lost a small area of colour and appears as clear glass. One of the bobèche has a casting crack and is different to the rest and has been resoldered to the candle nozzle. An attractive lot in overall good condition.
