Condition

STRUCTURE The canvas has been lined. PAINT SURFACE The appearance is generally good. Some re-touching is visible just above the sitter's right eye, and to the lower left of the canvas. There are regular horizontal canvas joins that are visible on close inspection. ULTRAVIOLET Ultraviolet light reveals scattered re-touching, heightening to the robes and a small area of repair just above the right eye. FRAME Held in a gilt plaster and wood frame.
