STRUCTURE The canvas has been lined. PAINT SURFACE The painting appears to be in good condition. Cracquelure is even and consistent with age. There are small areas of repair, visible on close inspection, to the lower, centre and upper right of the canvas, and to the upper centre. ULTRAVIOLET Ultraviolet light reveals scattered and quite extensive light re-touching, and some filling of cracquelure to the centre upper left of the painting. FRAME Held in a gilt wood frame.
