Condition

The canvas has been lined. There are a few restored old paint losses in the lower left and lower right hand corners. Examination under ultraviolet light reveals a cosmetic wash of retouching in the sky. This is largely cosmetic. There are scattered retouchings in the background buildings and tents, as well as some heightening touches to figures and horses in the foreground. There is a passage of retouching in the lower right hand corner. Held in a gilt wood frame.
