Condition

The canvas has been lined. There is a horizontal damage running the breadth of the painting six inches up from the lower edge. There is evidence of discoloured retouchings in the sky. Examination under ultraviolet light reveals passages of retouching in the upper left and upper right hand corners, as well as other places in the sky. There is also retouching to the aforementioned horizontal damage. Other scattered retouchings. Held in a plain wood frame.
