Catalogue Note

Charles Carmel worked for a number of different carousel makers, but his main interest was in the creation of his own unique designs.  In his shop near Prospect Park in Brooklyn, Carmel produced a perfect blend of fantasy and reality, producing what many believe to be the perfect carousel horse.  This middle row stander in rare original paint is a prime example of Carmel's work.
