A Fine and Rare Carved Outside Row Jumper Carousel Horse, Charles I.D. Looff

Clipped manes were used by several of the carousel makers.  The carousel that this horse was on was originally made to carry horsehair tails but the horses were refitted with wooden tails by the Looff company a few years after its original manufacturing date.  This large jumper with wonderful trappings last rode aboard the carousel at San Souci, Pennsylvania.
