Catalogue Note

Looff created a very small number of rams as is the case with all of the menagerie (non-horse) figures produced for carousels.  Looff's company was also the only one to produce jumping rams or goats.  This ram is a great example of an inner row menagerie figure, with simpler trappings yet the same attention to detail in the fur and horns.
