  • Length of the pendant: 21 cm
Hair string girdle, resin, feathers and carved wooden pendant, black, brown and white pigment
Bears inscription 'Wombunji Station N.T.' on the reverse of the pendant

Some chipping to the edges of the pendant.

Catalogue Note

An accompanying label reads: 'Wombunji Station Coroboree belt worn by Old Man Jacky  at a ceremony for crocodile'. It is probable that there was no pearl shell available for the making of this ceremonial belt and the artist has carved and decorated a piece of wood as a substitute.
