Catalogue Note

Cf. Watson, C., Eubena Nampitjin and Wimmitji Tjapangarti in Brody, A. M. (ed.), Stories: Eleven Aboriginal Artists, Craftsman House, Sydney, 1997, pp.49-62, for discussion and reproduction of the artist's paintings of this period in the Holmes à Court Collection, Heytsbury

This painting is sold with an accompanying Warlayirti Artists certificate that reads: 'The painting shows Tingari sites with associations to mythical events in the Tjukurrpa or Dreamtime. The artist knows the area intimately, having lived the first part of his life here. He has also shown some of the foods that people would collect incl. (sic.) kamitji and purra. There are hills nearby which harbour sites sacred to men which are looked after by senior people such as the artist.'
