the front decorated and elegantly carved zig-zag and concentric square motifs, wooden peg attached with kanagroo sinew, the reverse replete with finely adzed marking overall, old glossy patina

Condition
There is a fine crack 20 cm long running from the top near the centre of the shield, which has been repaired possibly by a traditional craftsman. There is old damage along the edges of the spearthrower which have been worn smooth with age.
