Description

  • Length: 63.5 cm
the concave front decorated with nine elongated rectangular motifs overlayed with finely engraved meandering zig-zag designs tapering to a wooden barb attached with copper wire and spinifex resin, the reverse with finely scalloped adze markings and decorated with seven minimalistic footprint-like designs

Condition

This is a very early example which has a deep glossy patina all over. There is a deep surface crack running 30 cm down the left hand side of the front blade. The right hand corner of the blade appears to have suffered some water damage. Some of the resin surrounding the peg has fallen away.
