- Length: 74.5 cm
carved in hardwood of elongated form with rounded square ends, the front with finely fluted zig-zag motif divided into three sections infilled with bright red and white pigment, the reverse finely engraved with fluted linear motifs and decorated with white pigment in two bands and two circular motifs

Condition
This old shield has a number of sections of its edges and ends missing which all appear to have been caused through natural use. It is an early example that may have been redecorated in recent years and appears to have had some sort of oil or applied patina
