- Length: 107 cm
carved in hardwood, of elongated ovoid form, the front with deeply engraved broad bands divided into three sections to form a zig-zag motif, infilled alternately with red and white pigment, the reverse similarly engraved, divided into seven bands and decorated in red pigment, with raised loop handle

Condition
The shield appears not to have been restored or repaired and is in stable overall condition. A section of the edge approximatey 15 cm long appears to have been burnt. There is a crack 22 cm long running longways through the handle and a fine split in the shield approximately 21 cm at one end, and further small areas of damage to the edges
