Condition

Overall in very good condition. The lamp has a white undercoat of paint and the pink was sprayed on and somewhat carelessly. Scattered losses to the pink paint, chips, minor dings and scratches throughout, as seen in the catalogue illustration. With minor areas of corrosion visible under some of the areas of missing paint. The top element is removable with two areas of losses to paint, revealing corrosion below. One area of the edge with minor dent and accompanying cracking to paint and small losses. Surface dirt. Interior white paint with scratches, chips and areas of minor discoloration from use. The feet with scratches and rubbing. Has been re- wired with American plug.

Catalogue Note

The “Java” table lamp was part of a larger series of similar works, including a chandelier.  The pink color variant of this lamp is rare; the majority of the pieces in the series are black, white and yellow.
