Condition

Overall very good condition showing normal wear consistent with age and use. All of the Krosnick pieces have been meticulously cared for and have been kept in a climate-controlled environment. The lamp base has narrow separations to the wood on one side along its dramatic graining.

Catalogue Note

The original table lamp designed by George Nakashima for the study was slightly larger and had a shoji shade and a burl base.  However, Evelyn asked that the replacement be made slightly smaller and more to scale with the study.  The second lamp employs an "Asa-no-ha" shade first designed in the 1970s by George Nakashima for a show in Japan and made there by local craftsmen.
