Description

  • George Nakashima
  • "Kornblut" Cabinet from the International Paper Headquarters, New York
  • American black walnut, East Indian rosewood and maple burl with brass lock

Condition

Overall in very good original condition. The piece with surface dirt throughout. Scattered minor surface scratches and nicks to edges. The base with more scratches and nicks as expected with use. The reverse with a chip (1/2 inch) to the proper right of the back of the case midway up the frame. There are areas of adhesive residue to the top, proper right door, proper left and right sides of the case. The residue on the both the proper left and right sides of the case appears to be the result of the application of tape and a slight discoloration extends from the area of residue. An area of discoloration (likely also from tape) is faintly visible across the back of the case. Minor sun fading throughout. The case opens to reveal four shelves to the interior with original pegs. This is a wonderful oversize example of the "Kornblut" form made to accommodate the needs of a corporate environment.
