Condition

Overall very good original condition. In person the grain of the East Indian Laurel top is much richer and more complex with numerous striations to the grain and wonderful sap lines that are barely visible in the catalogue photograph where the drop leaf is hinged. The top surface with moderate wear including noticeable scuffs, most of which are apparent in the catalogue illustration. One additional white stripped stain on the drop down leaf and to the top. All of these white scuffs and scratches should be easily polished out by a professional restorer. On the base, one of the vertical slabs with a long crack extending the entire length of the piece. This slab is still stable, but should be restored. Otherwise the base shows normal wear.
