Catalogue Note

This pair of figures are much smaller in scale than Blashfield usual ouevre of larger garden and architectural pieces, usually they are also in the red terracotta rather than the more usual buff coloured clay. They are illustrated in Blashfields catalogue of 1857 and are numbered 348 and 349.
