Catalogue Note
John Bell 1812-1895 was one of the leading modellers for the Coalbrookdale Foundry. He exhibited at the Royal Academy from 1832 to 1879 and enjoyed considerable success with the Eagle Slayer, reproduced in cast iron by Coalbrookdale together with the extremely elaborate Greyhound Table, illustrated in the Art Union of 1845 and exhibited at the Paris Exhibition.
