Catalogue Note

Accompanied by an Extract from the Archives confirming production in 1912 and sale on November 26th, the same year. Interestingly the Extract mentions that the watch was originally manufactured with an "Extending gold bracelet". Although the bracelet of the wristwatch is not signed, it may well be original to the watch.
A simliar watch also manufactured in 1912 but with white enamel roman numerals (Patek Philippe no.170675) was sold at Sotheby's Geneva, 17th May 2004, lot 49.

This is thought to be one of the earliest examples of a wristwatch by Patek Philippe with a movement which has not been recovered from a former pendant watch. Its inspiring ergonomic shape can been seen reflected within modern designs today.
