  • A gold pair cased dumb quarter repeating cylinder watch1768 no 5678
  • diameter 48mm.
gilt cylinder movement, signed and numbered, fusee and chain, pierced and engraved balance cock, diamond end-stone, turned pillars, the repetition by two hammers on a steel block in the case, signed and numbered gilt metal dust cap • white enamel dial, Roman numerals, Arabic outer, blued steel beetle and poker hands • plain gold inner case hallmarked 1768, numbered and with maker's mark HT, the outer case with pulse piece to the bezel, the back centred by a glazed oval reserve containing plaited hair and surrounded by radiating fluted decoration, the bezels engraved with interwoven loops

Condition

Movement not running or repeating, hands do not move, will need a complete service and overhaul, fusee chain detached. Dial good. Inner case with light scuffs. Pendant appears to be replaced. Thumb piece's setting is missing. Decoration to outer case in generally good condition.
