Description

  • 1326gr., width 32cm.
square with rounded corners, cable rim, swing handle is attached to the basket with silver dolphins, at the base engraving with initials P.F.L.T. for Philip Frederik Languis Tobis of IndiĆ«, fully marked 

Condition

In good condition. Nothing to report. Philip Franz Laging Tobias was, amongst other things, the resident of the Indonesian islands of Ternate (from 1876) and Palembang (from 1882), he received an important military medal (the Militaire Willemsorde). He also wrote a book and held an important speech, now published. Literature: Phrasen en feiten (1886, over de Atjeh oorlog) Beschouwingen naar aanleiding van eenige Atjeh adviezen (1888).
