Description
- A fine gold pair cased repoussé verge watchAmsterdam, early 18th century
- diameter 5.6cm., height overall 18.5cm.
gilt full plate movement, signed, pierced and engraved silver balance bridge, fusee and chain, applied silver decoration, Egyptian pillars, later white enamel dial, Roman numerals, outer Arabic minute track, poker and beetle hands, plain polished inner case, repoussé outer case depicting Lot made drunk by his two Daughters, within strapwork and the personification of the four seasons, the chain with the scene of Sextus approaching Lucretia, fully marked at the reverse of chain also struck with a 1807 control mark for Amstyerdam, with matching seal and key

Watch: Movement not running at present, third wheel and contrate-wheel pinion loose, later enamel dial, inner case with a few dents, overall with some traces of use, attractive gold chatelaine with later seal and key. Gold: Marks clearly struck. Please note that the signet and key are of different hand and date.
