Catalogue Note
The silver cockerel offered here is a good copy of the Goldene Hahn, which can be seen in the City Hall of the Münster. The golden cockerel was made around 1600 in Nürnberg. It was said to be used as a wine bottle. The detachable head can be removed to pour in the wine. Honorary guests were offered to drink from the cockerel.
