Description

152 diamonds approx 2.25 cts, 3 emeralds and 1 diamond missing.

Condition

Designed as a stylistic dragon, set on the body with cabochon opaque emeralds, 3 of which are missing. Also set with single-cut diamonds approximately I-J color and SI clarity, one diamond missing at the bend of a horn, the two stones flanking it are not diamonds, and appear to have been glued in at an earlier date. Accented with a baroque and a round cultured pearl, both with good luster and rosy hues. Set at the mouth with a pear-shaped ruby. Some discoloration to the yellow gold areas, and in fair condition overall. 3 1/2 inches in length.
In response to your inquiry, we are pleased to provide you with a general report of the condition of the property described above. Since we are not professional conservators or restorers, we urge you to consult with a restorer or conservator of your choice who will be better able to provide a detailed, professional report. Prospective buyers should inspect each lot to satisfy themselves as to condition and must understand that any statement made by Sotheby's is merely a subjective qualified opinion. Illustrations in the catalogue may not be actual size. Prospective purchasers are reminded that, unless the catalogue description specifically states that a stone is natural, we have assumed that some form of treatment may have been used and that such treatment may not be permanent. Our presale estimates reflect this assumption.
