Description
Designed as a bulla, inset to the obverse with pastel coloured tesserae, depicting floral and foliate motifs and a pair of winged cherubs, the reverse applied with the motif AVE within a surround of multi-coloured tesserae depicting a dove, opening to reveal a glazed locket, Vatican assay marks.

Condition
A couple of tesserae deficient to obverse not noticeable, small area of tesserae, indented, a small repair to the top and small area of tesserae indented on reverse. Opens to reveal a circular glazed compartment with a lock of hair inside with an inscription taped to the outside reading 'Cheveaux Pui IX'. Some slight tarnish and dirt visible particularly to the obverse of the bulla. In very good condition.
