LAPIS LAZULI AND ENAMEL FLASK, BOUCHERON, 1920s

Description

Designed as a flattened amphora, its hollowed lapis lazuli body applied with handles carved to depict two dragons, its lid, base and sides further embellished with stylised three tonal enamel motifs, measurements approximately 120mm x 51mm x 32mm, signed Boucheron Paris, maker's marks and French assay marks.  

Condition

Lapis Lazuli is a rock made up of several different minerals, the large veins of whitish brown material is calcite, there is also a presence of some small specs of brassy pyrite. Some very small areas of damage to the enamel where the metal is showing through. Lid fits snugly, well balanced when standing. Total weight approximately 150 grams. Signature to underside of lid. In excellent condition.
