ENAMEL AND DIAMOND VANITY CASE, CARTIER, 1920s

Description

Of geometric design, embellished to the centre with a millegrain-set plaque with Roman numerals 'XXV' set with rose-cut diamonds, to a similarly-set thumb piece, opening to reveal a mirror, two powder compact compartments and a hinged lipstick, measurements approximately 95mm x50mm x 15mm, signed Cartier made in France and  numbered, French assay marks and maker's marks.

Condition

Hinged Lipstick holder and container with corresponding numbers 2223 and the same number to base of vanity case beneath lipstick. Inscribed 1904, 14. NOV, 1929 to upper right hand corner of right hand compartment, case numbered S77 to lower edge, signed Cartier Made in France to upper edge.
